About

Founded in October 2024, Game Scout Journal serves to discover the people building the Games Industry from all across the world.

How it started:

Hi, I’m Chris, founder of Game Scout Journal.

In October 2024, I quit my job, packed a rucksack, a laptop, and prepared to fly to Southeast Asia with two goals in mind:

One: Have fun. (How could I not?)

Two: To tell stories.

To me, it seemed journalism would be a good avenue for this, or games copywriting.

I wanted to tell stories about a region full of emerging talent and one that is often overlooked in the West.

So, I landed in Bangkok on February 7th, 2025, and started to reach out to local game studios.

I conducted interviews, site visits, and wrote articles about many of members of the Games Industry in Southeast Asia… completely free of charge. Minus the occasional free lunch.

Why?

I wanted proof that I could turn the spirit of a studio into a compelling story people might actually care about.

Games copywriting in a cafe can be thirsty work. Image of Chris's writing laptop and several drinks.
Copywriting can be thirsty work!

That’s when I noticed the gap – and it’s not exclusive to Southeast Asia.

Game studios and service providers everywhere are doing amazing work.
But very few are telling their story in a way that:

  • Builds trust
  • Attracts the right clients
  • Creates a real emotional pull
  • Grows visibility and recognition

Everyone has an idea of what they think their Studio is all about.

But – does everyone else see it that way?

When I started asking these questions, Game Scout Journal evolved.

From a travel blog to a service – a professionally packaged storytelling machine that will turn your past wins into future deals.

Our Marketing Services:

  • Studio spotlights – editorial-style features to showcase your culture and story
